Vincent Bueno To Represent Austria At Eurovision 2020

The rumour-mill was in full force over the last few weeks as to who would be representing Austria at the Eurovision Song Content 2020 in Rotterdam.

First, a photo from an Austrian studio on Facebook seemed to suggest singer/songwriter Thea Devy was the chosen one, which was quickly followed up by a mysterious Instagram post from the artist that was accompanied by the not-so-secretive hashtags “#Eurovision” and “#ESC” (the former was later removed).

More recently came a report from Austrian newspaper Österreich that questioned the Thea Devy rumours by putting the name of Austrian/Filipino singer Vincent Bueno into the ring.

Now, participating Broadcaster ORF has ended speculation and confirmed that Bueno will fly the Austrian flag at Eurovision 2020 in Rotterdam.

Eurofans may know the voice of Vincent Bueno as its appeared on a Eurovision stage before, namely as a backing vocalist for Austria’s 2017 representative Nathan Trent in Kyiv, Ukraine. Bueno tried his hand at being the headline act for Austria in 2017 and competed at Austria’s national final where he performed “All We Need Is That Love” and finished short of making it the main final.

Bueno will no doubt look to do a little better than average on the real Eurovision scoreboard next year: let’s wait and see if he can make it happen!
