It was, perhaps, the worst kept secret of the year but it’s finally been announced the pop legend Madonna will perform at the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv.
The announcement has come only days after Executive Supervisor Jon Ola Sand revealed at a press conference that no deal had yet been reached between Madonna and the EBU or the host broadcaster, KAN.
This is despite the fact that organisers have been loudly touting Madonna’s performance for weeks, even going so far as to including her act in printed copies of the Media Handbook, which didn’t seem like the most effective negotiating strategy.
Regardless, they’ve worked out the details and we’ll be seeing Madonna perform some hit songs, as well as some new material, as the interval act at this year’s Grand Final.
